1st Day of School

Mia was so excited to start Kindergarten today! She was up and dressed t 6:43AM all on her own. She and Konnor at the same elementary school now.

...but once she got to class, she was a little apprehensive. Big Brother was there to encourage her she was going to have a great day.
It helped, but she needed a little more encouragement from Daddy.


Konnor was more than ready for 3rd grade! He got settled in quickly and was more than ready for Mom (and the camera) to leave.
They had a great first day, and ready for a great year!

konnor found a hat today and some 'vintage finds' from a good friend. this just says so much about him. he has his own comfy boy style. all of his jeans have worn out knees. he plays hard. comfy. laid back. boy.

football practice

Konnor's officially started football practice this week. i'm so proud of him -- while we've had 100degree + days, he's been out there practicin' his heart out! football - TACKLE football - has been a passion of his for a couple years now. yes, this is his first year to play TACKLE FOOTBALL. he played flag football two years ago, wanted to only play tackle last year, but we failed to sign him up on time and we heard about it all year. ;)

and he's so cute! i'm his mama, so i can say that. :) he's a tough dude, and i'm proud of him. he falls, he gets back up and keeps going.

he's got a great coach-makin' sure they're well hydrated, with water breaks every 20 minutes. safety is first and foremost - then havin' fun and learning the game! can't wait for this football season!

girls weekend

a few weeks ago, i was blessed to spend a weekend away with some fun, beautiful godly women. we got away to dallas for some girl time.

yes, we stayed at the hilton, but-my good friend, the self-proclaimed "frugalista/fashionista" ;) friend found us an unbelievable deal on the rooms, and sharing rooms - super cheap deal for a getaway.




it was great to deepen some friendships and get to know others better. had so much fun and can't wait to do it again!

Biker Dudes and Babes

The Grandparents got the kids new bikes to enjoy as an early birthday present, since all their birthdays are in the fall. We've been outside enjoying them...
and getting faster...
and faster...
